Biography

For Hans, photography started in his early schooldays. And later during his study of history in the medieval city of his birth, Leiden, he was already systematically archiving his work.
Shortly after finishing his studies he decided in 1989 to completely dedicate his time to professional photography. A growing volume of assignments followed. In the beginning in his circle of friends who had happy moments of celebrating the end of the study period. Later weddings and corporate & university assignments followed in rapid suit.

His journalistic style captures the mind because of real life quality of the images. In the time since his start Hans has done so many assignments in Holland as well as abroad that he has become a master in quick on the trigger photography. Light touched but profoundly touching what is important in various settings and moments. In so doing creating astoundingly complete mementos.

As of 1996 Hans used the name ‘Exlosive pictures’ as brandname. In 2000 it is replaced by ‘People and moments’.

In well established dutch media like Het Parool, de Telegraaf, het Algemene Dagblad, de Cosmopolitan and het Leidsch Dagblad he was well commented on. De Wereldomroep, a worldwide transmitting channel, made a television special of Hans in action during one of his wedding assignments.

In 2004 his book “Een echte Koreman/A true Koreman” was published. A retrospective of his work the past 15 years.

Spring 2007 his book titled:  “Like this?” was published.

Both publications are in private collections, not the least to mention, the collection of the queen of Holland. She commented most favourably on receiving both books.

In January 2010 his new book "Between Americans" will be published, with pictures of America.
